The ‘Beyond the Seal – Strengthening Accountability in Certification and Audit Schemes’ session took place at the 2025 UN Responsible Business and Human Rights Forum, Asia-Pacific on 17 September 2025. The panel featured Embode’s Consultant James Eckford, who joined fellow panellists on exploring how certification and audit schemes affect the rights of Indigenous People.
The session promotes inclusive, rights-based accountability aligned with international standards such as UNGPs and UNDRIP. Drawing on his experience, James underlined the importance of sharing responsibilities across supply chains to diverse stakeholders to ensure efforts to protect the rights of Indigenous people is efficient and collaborative.
