Unilever’s 2025 Modern Slavery Statement

Unilever published Embode’s key findings from the 2023 Forced Labour Assessments in India and Indonesia. The assessment identified key forced labour risk indicators across Unilever’s supply chain, covering manufacturing, as well as the tea, sugar, dairy, and coconut sectors. Our recommendations have helped shape Unilever’s strategic priorities to strengthen human rights due diligence (HRDD).

Unilever continued to report their engagement with the Ganapati Initiative, Embode’s flagship project dedicated to developing HRDD with supply chain businesses across Asia. Embode provided coaching, advisory support and technical guidance that empowered 12 suppliers, including two Unilever suppliers, to gain deeper insights and create action plans to address key challenges in labour standards and ethical recruitment.
