Erik leads the consultant team in delivering context-appropriate and systems-based  solutions across diverse projects that seamlessly integrate human rights and social protection into organisational models.

Erik directs and oversees our client projects and our team of diverse consultantsto ensure high-quality deliverables. Known for his systematic approach and people-centred perspective, he provides technical expertise that ensure human rights due diligence and responsible labour practices are embedded through client operations and supply chains. With over 20 years of expertise in project and operational management, Erik excels at designing strategic solutions tailored to client needs, serving private sector companies, UN agencies, and civil society organisations. His extensive experience across both the private and humanitarian sectors equips him with the unique ability to address corporate challenges while mitigating human rights risks effectively.

Before joining Embode, Erik held senior operational roles in humanitarian organisations, including as a Country Director, managing multicultural teams across Africa, Asia, Europe, and the United States. His experience spans a wide range of areas, including child protection, migration, human trafficking, modern slavery, responsible finance, gender equality, displacement, and sustainability. Drawing from his earlier career as a project engineer specialising in procurement and operations, Erik brings a deep understanding of how businesses and supply chains function on the ground. His operational insight allows him to design practical systems that integrate business realities while embedding human rights and social protection. Erik has worked with clients of all sizes across various industries, such as agriculture, fast-moving consumer goods, financial services, food and beverage, and manufacturing.
