In the 2025 Statement Against Slavery and Human Trafficking, Hershey reported their participation in the Ganapati initiative, Embode’s supplier-centric systems building programme dedicated to strengthening human rights due diligence. Embode provided technical guidance to four Malaysian-based suppliers and one Thailand-based supplier over a 12 month period, in which they collaboratively identified areas of improvement through needs assessments, and implemented tailored action plans that strengthened responsible recruitment and labour standards in accordance to international and national HRDD requirements.
In 2025, Embode collaborated with Hershey to assess and enhance their grievance mechanism ecosystem to ensure that it is widely accessible, effective and trusted by workers across their supply chain. An assessment and development remediation framework followed, to ensure its effectiveness in accordance to the UN Guiding Principle and international standards to ensure trusted avenues for people to raise concerns and access remedy.
