James translates international human rights concepts into actionable solutions that put rightsholders at the centre.
At Embode, James manages projects that address social protection challenges across business supply chains. Adept at conducting field research, data collection and data analysis, James collaborates closely with local teams, communities and rightsholders to develop practical solutions tailored to on-the-ground contexts. He supports operational human rights due diligence while fostering successful collaboration between brands and workers in supply chain operations. With over seven years of professional experience in the broader Mekong sub-region, James’s expertise is deeply shaped by his grassroots work, where he has bridged high-level international human rights standards with local realities.
After graduating with a Master’s degree in Human Rights in Venice, James has worked with the United Nations, international and national NGOs on issues across child protection, forced labour, and migrant rights. His lived experience working with migrant communities and businesses allows him to integrate human rights due diligence into pragmatic solutions. Additionally, his passion for languages, including Mandarin and Thai, as well as his ongoing studies in Japanese and Korean, allows him to connect deeply and build trust across diverse cultural contexts.
