Mondelez’s 2024 Human Rights Due Diligence Report

In its 2024 Human Rights Due Diligence (HRDD) report, Mondelēz International referenced two independent assessments conducted by Embode in 2015 on child protection in the cocoa sectors of Côte d’Ivoire and Ghana. These assessments, commissioned as part of Mondelēz’s ongoing Cocoa Life program, provided an in-depth analysis of international and national law regarding child protection and an overview of the national systems responding to the issue. It was followed by a child-centred analysis on the strengths and gaps of the overarching response. Embode’s findings contributed to shaping the company’s approach to addressing child labour and strengthening safeguards for children within cocoa-farming communities.
