The ‘Redesigning Recruitment Markets: Creating an ethical recruitment marketplace to embed human rights’ session took place at the 2025 UN Responsible Business and Human Rights Forum, Asia-Pacific on 16 September 2025. The panel featured Embode’s Executive Director Aarti Kapoor, who joined panel discussion on how to tackle forced labor by aligning ethical recruitment with actual market dynamics in the Asia Pacific region.
The panel examines how a business-led approach can scale impact across supply chains, moving beyond traditional compliance to create a new business norm that benefits both workers and companies. Aarti highlights the need for solutions that are systematic and realistic rather than just expecting immediate implementation of ideal human rights principles. She advocates for a deeper understanding of the worker’s perspective and the supply and demand trends that drive these labour markets.
